PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalytic functional material excellent in photocatalytic activity and durability. SOLUTION: A glass ceramic comprises a crystal phase containing titanium oxide (TiO<SB>2</SB>) and/or a solid solution thereof. The glass ceramic comprises, based on the total amount of substances in the glass ceramic with a composition calculated in terms of oxides, 15.0-88.9 mol% TiO<SB>2</SB>component, 11.0-84.9 mol% P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>component and 0.1-30.0 mol% Ln<SB>a</SB>O<SB>b</SB>components (wherein Ln is at least one chosen from the group consisting of Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu; when Ln is not Ce, a=2 and b=3, and when Ln is Ce, a=1 and b=2) in total.
