PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a very small amount of magnetic fine particles contained in a fluid more easily than before. SOLUTION: An opening 2p is provided to the base 2b of a drain pipe 2. A measuring pipe 3 is connected to the opening 2p. The fluid FL is stored on the base 3b of the measuring pipe 3 for a definite time. If the magnetic fine powder PD contained in the fluid FL is precipitated and deposited, the electromagnetic characteristics in the vicinity of the base 3b of the measuring pipe 3 are detected by a measuring coil 11 and an A/D converter 12. Then, the concentration of the magnetic fine powder PD contained in the fluid FL is calculated on the basis of the detected electromagnetic characteristics by a CPU 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
