The method involves arranging certain number of sensors (2) on a grid in a pre-determined surface in a distributed manner. A local density of the sensor arrangement for each grid point (1) is determined. An additional sensor is arranged on the grid to obtain a large global density value, which is resulted as an entire sum of local density values at all sensors, where the local density values are determined using the additional sensor. The grid points exhibit a hexagonal arrangement or a quincunx-arrangement. The sensor exhibits a random distance at the grid points.
