A method, base station and system for performing a Timing Adjustment on a component carriers are disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention. The method includes the following steps: receiving an instruction signaling, wherein the signaling is used for instructing a downlink component carrier which is regarded as a timing reference for an uplink component carrier; and regarding the downlink component carrier as a timing reference time to adjust the uplink component carrier. By instructing the downlink component carrier which is regarded as a timing reference for the uplink component carrier in the transmitted instruction signaling, the embodiments of the present invention can specify the timing reference time used by a terminal when the terminal performs a Timing Adjustment on the uplink component carrier, and can accurately determine the Timing Adjustment for the uplink component carrier.
