The pressure sensor operates by measuring variations in electrical conductivity of a material (1) such as salt (NaCl), preferably unrefined and sandwiched between two surfaces (2), e.g. layers of fabric, connected to terminals (3). The salt can be enriched with metallic eligoelements, and contained at a rate of at least 10 per cent in a binding agent such as a polymer or an elastomer, e.g. rubber, or an adhesive. The material can also have additional electrically conducting particles, e.g. of active carbon or graphite, dispersed within it, and the fabric layers can be impregnated with salt. The terminals are connected to a system that measures variations in capacity or in tension generated by a piezoelectric effect.
|
