A hinge for windows or doors is of pin and socket form, the socket member comprising a threaded metal bolt 2 welded or soldered to a hollow cylindrical or toric metal core 3 covered by moulded plastics material 1. The other hinge member is of identical construction but has a metal or plastics pin in place of the socket 4.
