PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for obtaining a light emitting device with good yield concerning a method of manufacturing the light emitting device. SOLUTION: In manufacturing a light emitting device, a second substrate 600a has a recess 607a and a recess 608a, thereby, the width of a seal pattern 605b can be maintained narrow and moreover, exudation of the sealing material can be prevented. Thereby, narrow frame of the light emitting device can be attained. Furthermore, by the method of manufacture to cut out part of the second substrate from the recess to an edge, narrow frame of the light emitting device is achieved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
