<p>A vacuum cup (2) to be received in a housing (1) to form a vacuum electrode module, comprises an end wall (3) with a through electrode element (8) to engage a patient's skin to detect signals of electrical activity of the patient's heart, and an annular sealing member (4) to form a vacuum chamber with the patient's skin. The annular sealing member (4) has a V-shaped cross section with an inner sealing skirt (5) connected to the end wall (3) and an outer sealing skirt (6) to be connected to the housing (1). The vacuum chamber is to be connected to a vacuum pump via openings in the vacuum cup (2), and the electrode element (8) is to be connected to a monitoring device for monitoring the detected signals. The openings (10) in the vacuum cup (2) are located in the inner sealing skirt (5), and the inner sealing skirt (5) and the outer sealing skirt (6) are hydrophilic on at least part of their opposed surfaces (11, 12).</p> |
