PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress inrush current in an image forming apparatus having an inverter-type fixing heater-driving circuit. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus including a fixing device driving a fixing heater by an inverter circuit includes: a fixing heater temperature detection means detecting a temperature of the fixing heater; and a fixing heater temperature control means inputting a temperature control signal of the fixing heater into the inverter circuit. The fixing heater temperature control means includes: a switching duty-changing means changing on-duty of the temperature control signal in synchronization with a zero cross of an input electric power supply; and a switching frequency-changing means changing a frequency of the temperature control signal based on the detection result of the fixing heater temperature detection means.
