<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a device and to improve an appearance of a heat pump type water heater. <P>SOLUTION: A depression part 18 depressed toward an interior of an outdoor unit 1 is provided in a back face 10a or a side face 10b of an outdoor unit casing 10 of the outdoor unit 1, and a connection part 15 of a water pipe supplying water is provided in the depression part 18.
