摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of designing a diffusion plate for a back illumination device. <P>SOLUTION: The method of designing a diffusion plate for a back illumination device includes the steps of: arranging a substrate that has a diffusion layer with predetermined diffusion characteristics and has no reflection layer formed thereon at a predetermined position with respect to the light source part, and acquiring a level of the luminance at a plurality of positions on the display part side of the substrate while the light from the light source part is transmitted to the display part side; determining the order of levels of the reflectance at each corresponding position on the reflection layer according to the order of levels of luminance at each position, and temporarily determining a reflectance distribution of the reflection layer according to the order of levels; and creating a temporary diffusion plate made by forming a reflection layer of the temporarily determined reflectance distribution on the substrate having the diffusion characteristics, acquiring the luminance at each position using the temporary diffusion plate in the same way as the luminance acquisition, and finally determining the reflectance distribution of the reflection layer based on the luminance acquired at each position of the substrate and the temporary diffusion plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
