<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of temperature distribution in a fluorescent tube used for a back light of a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display panel 10, the fluorescent tube 30, a holder 36 to hold the fluorescent tube 30, and a frame to mount the holder 36. The holder 36 includes a mounting unit 40 to mount the frame, and the holding unit 42 of the fluorescent tube 30 extending from the mounting unit 40 and facing the frame in a contactless manner.
