PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dummy eggs of an insect pest with a transportable activity higher than the conventional ones, particularly the dummy eggs of termites, and to provide a more efficient method for eradicating and controlling termites, a biology research tool and the like. SOLUTION: The method for eradicating and controlling an insect pest, a biological research tool and the like comprise using the dummy eggs of the insect pest, particularly of termites, which contain β-glucosidase, its salt, its biological fragment or a β-glucosidase related peptide as a constituent of egg recognition pheromones in the base material which imitates the egg of termites.
