PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defibrillation electrode which reduces a load imposed on pulses of a heart even when the defibrillation electrode is placed in the heart or in a periphery of the heart. SOLUTION: The defibrillation electrode 2 for applying electrical energy to the heart includes an insulation member 7 formed into a sheet shape along a prescribed reference surface T1, an electrode part 9 which is provided to be exposed on one surface 7a of the insulation member 7 and is made of a conductive material, and an insulating side extra length part 8 which is provided on the insulation member and is formed in such a manner that a length between two prescribed points of the insulation member may be longer than a length following the reference surface between two points.
