PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator coil provided in a stator of an axial gap dynamoelectric machine wherein a driving force is enhanced and space saving for the members comprising the stator is achieved by increasing a winding density. SOLUTION: The stator coil 10 used in the axial gap dynamoelectric machine includes multiple coil pieces 11 formed of conductor and an annular base member 20 for arranging the coil pieces 11 in the circumferential direction. Each of the coil pieces 11 is comprised of a first coil piece 12 forming a coil loop, a second coil piece 13 for connection with a bus bar or change of the direction of current, and a third coil piece 14 for connecting the end of the Nth turn and the start of the (N+1)th turn to shift the arrangement of the coil pieces 11 to the direction of the circumference of the rotating shaft A of a rotor.
