A resin powder which comprises a (meth)acrylic resin and metal oxide particles encapsulated therein, said metal oxide particles having ultraviolet screening effect, wherein the mean particle diameter of the resin powder is 0.1 to 1µm; the metal oxide particles contain one or more oxides selected from the group consisting of zinc oxide, titanium oxide, cerium oxide, and iron oxide, and have a mean particle diameter of 0.003 to 0.1µm; the metal oxide particle content of the resin powder is 1 to 80% by mass; and the metal oxide particles are dispersed in the resin powder in a manner such that no metal oxide particles are exposed on the surface of the resin powder. Thus, a resin powder which consists essentially of microparticles and exhibits improved ultraviolet absorption performance and improved transparency to visible light can be provided.
