PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten renewal work, and to reduce cost, by effectively using a component of a hydraulic elevator as a component of a rope type elevator, when renewing to the rope type elevator from the hydraulic elevator. SOLUTION: This rope type elevator 16 is formed by renewing the hydraulic elevator, and is provided by suspending a car 3 and a counterweight 21 by a rope 28 wound on a hoisting device 19.
