PURPOSE: A pegylated triiodinated aryl compound is provided to ensure low viscosity and osmolality and to avoid problems on kidney toxicity, thereby enabling use for X-ray contrast media. CONSTITUTION: A pegylated triiodinated aryl compound is represented by chemical formula 1 or 2. In chemical formulas, A, B and D are the same or different and represent -CON(R)R1 or -N(R)COR2; E is the same or different and represents -CON(R)-, -N(R)CO- or -N(COR3)-; and X is a covalent bond or C1-C8 linear or branched alkylene chain substituted or unsubstituted with 1-6 substituents selected from the group consisting of OH and -CONHR.
