The disclosure is the same as that of the Specification 1, 254, 432 but the claims are directed to a system for determining a property of a moving sheet with a detector responsive to the property which comprises repeatedly and at different locations scanning the detector transversely of the sheet, deriving at each scan a group of signal values indicative of a function of the property in each of a plurality of zones succeeding each other across the sheet accumulating for each zone individually the signal values appertaining to that zone obtained in successive scans, and weighting the accumulated values as a function of time.
