PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which ensures good image density and excels also in fixability and environmental stability and a developer using the toner. SOLUTION: (1) The toner comprises a resin (b) having a polyhydroxycarboxylic acid skeleton, wherein a content of a methanol-soluble component extracted by a methanol solvent is≤6 wt.% relative to the weight of the toner. (2) The toner described in (1) comprises resin particles (C) of a structure in which resin particles (A) comprising a resin (a) adhere to a surface of a resin particle (B) comprising the resin (b) having the polyhydroxycarboxylic acid skeleton.
