<p>In a fixing device (20), a metal member (22) is provided inside a fixing belt (21) to heat the fixing belt (21). A first lubricant (Q1) is applied between the metal member (22) and the fixing belt (21) at a center portion of the fixing belt (21) in an axial direction of the fixing belt (21) that contacts a recording medium bearing a toner image. A second lubricant (Q2) having a viscosity greater than a viscosity of the first lubricant (Q1) is applied between the metal member (22) and the fixing belt (21) at lateral edge portions of the fixing belt (21) in the axial direction of the fixing belt (21) that do not contact the recording medium.</p>
