PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for ferro-coke capable of previously predicting the strength of a molded article of a mixture of a carbon-containing substance and an iron-containing substance used as a material for manufacturing the ferro-coke and manufacturing the molded article having high strength even when coals of various brands are used. SOLUTION: When the ferro-coke is manufactured by carbonizing the formulated coal molded article obtained by mixing/molding the formulated coal in which the coals of a plurality of brands are formulated and the iron-containing substance, the manufacturing method for the ferro-coke characterized in that strength of the formulated coal molded article is presumed using strength of the single brand molded article obtained by mixing/molding the coal of each single brand constituting the formulated coal and the iron-containing substance is used. The strength of the formulated coal molded article is estimated as a weighted average of the strength of the single brand molded article, and formulation of the coal is preferably determined such that the strength of the formulated coal molded article becomes target strength.
