PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decrease in the number of images formed per unit time and deterioration in components involved in image formation, when forming an image of a document including a plurality of pages different in combination of developers used for image formation. SOLUTION: During the image formation of an image forming apparatus 1, a CPU 111 acquires image data of sixth to tenth recording mediums. In this example, the images of the surfaces of the eighth to tenth are monochrome images and the others are color images. To process them without changing supply order, four switching timeΔtcand four switching timeΔtmare required. Therefore, the number of times that switching is carried out increases compared with the case where all images on the recording mediums are color images. On the other hand, when the timing of forming an image on the surface of the eighth recording medium is extended to time t18, one switching timeΔtmand one switching timeΔtcare required. However, these result in image non-formation period corresponding to two surfaces.
