PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a configuration and to increase the speed of restricting an excessive output, with respect to a remote device which has a driving power supplied thereto by a dedicated power source for converting power supplied through a cable and subjects an input signal given through the cable together with the power, to prescribed processing. SOLUTION: The remote device includes a processing means for subjecting the input signal supplied through the cable to prescribed processing and a power conversion means for converting the power supplied through the cable together with the input signal and supplying the power to the processing means as the driving power. The power conversion means includes an overload control means which discriminates a possibility that a power or an instantaneous value of an output signal outputted as the result of the prescribed processing from the processing means may exceed a defined threshold, as an overload state to restrict the driving power.
