A cutting machine includes a workbench (22) provided with an opening (40), wherein the workbench (22) comprises an upper surface (36) for supporting a work piece (34); a support base (24) provided for supporting the workbench (22); and a cutting mechanism (26) fixed on the lower surface of the workbench (22) and housed in the support base (24). The cutting mechanism (26) includes a motor for providing rotating motion; a reciprocating rod for driving the saw blade (28), which passes through the opening (40) to move reciprocatively; a motion converting mechanism for changing the rotating motion of the motor into the reciprocation motion of the reciprocating rod; and a saw blade clamping and releasing mechanism which clamps or releases the saw blade (28) operably. The operator can move the work piece to be cut. The machine is convenient to use, and has high cutting accuracy.
