PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire alarm which can significantly reduce periodic check work performed manually by a user. SOLUTION: A fire alarm outputting a voice alarm from a speaker 42 when detecting a fire includes a timer 30 measuring a predetermined time period (for example, 30 days) from power-on to a date for the periodic check of the fire alarm. After the timer 30 has completed the time measurement of 30 days, and when the fire alarm operates normally, the fire alarm causes an alarm sound output section (4, 41, 42) for outputting a fire alarm sound and causes a voice input section 7 to collect the fire alarm sound, thereby determining whether or not the fire alarm sound is output with a sound pressure whose level is equal to or greater than a predetermined sound pressure level.
