PURPOSE: A protection device of a sensor module for a vehicle and a method thereof are provided to prevent over currents from being supplied to a vehicle wheel speed sensor module and a controller when a fail safe operation of a controller of an electronic control system is not performed, thereby preventing the controller of the electronic control system, the vehicle wheel speed sensor module, and surrounding parts from being damaged or wrongly operated. CONSTITUTION: A protection device of a sensor module for a vehicle comprises a power supply unit, a vehicle wheel speed sensor module for detecting speed of each vehicle wheel by receiving power from the power supply unit, a controller for controls whether to block power supplied to the vehicle wheel speed sensor module by determining whether the power supply unit has an error, and a power module(10). |
