摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an OCB (optically compensated birefringence) mode liquid crystal device in which smooth initial transition is carried out, and to provide a liquid crystal device and an electronic apparatus with the liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a liquid crystal device includes initial transition of an alignment state of a liquid crystal from splay alignment to bend alignment. The method includes steps of: preparing an element substrate 10 having a rugged pattern in a display region as at least one of substrates; forming a porous film (alignment layer 18) made of an inorganic material to cover at least the display region; and subjecting the porous film to a first alignment treatment by irradiating the film with an ion beam (IB) in a first direction (normal direction), followed by a second alignment treatment by irradiating the film with an ion beam (IB) in a second direction (a direction at an incident angle of 45 degrees) different from the first direction.
