PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate wherein the orientation and the flatness of the surface of a nickel plated layer can be improved, and a method for producing the substrate.SOLUTION: This producing method of the substrate comprises: a process for preparing a base material wherein a nickel layer is formed on a copper layer by a plating method; a process for heat-treating the nickel layer at 800 to 1,000°C; and a process for epitaxially growing a coating layer on the nickel layer after the process for heat-treating the nickel layer.
