PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold clamping device which has a half nut actuating mechanism with an electric motor and whose structure can be simplified without use of a link mechanism in the half nut actuating mechanism.SOLUTION: The mold clamping device 12 carries out mold clamping by causing a movable mold 20 to approach a fixed mold 15 or bringing the movable mold 20 into contact with the fixed mold 15 by means of mold opening/closing mechanisms 26, 27 and 28, engaging half nuts 37a, 38b, 37b and 38a in an engaging portion 25a and clamping the mold by a mold clamping mechanism 22. The half nuts 37a, 38b, 37b and 38a are actuated by using at least an electric motor 32 serving as a driving source for the half nut actuating mechanism 29 and a ball screw 36 which has the first screw part 39 and the second screw part 40 chased reversely relative to the first screw part 39 and is rotated by the electric motor 32. |
