<p>The storage device (1) has multiple stacked shelves with horizontal storage areas. A control device is moved in vertical and horizontal directions at the front side of the shelf. A support table is provided for receiving a unit load. A vertically movable cover, or a segment (5a-5i) of the cover has an upper edge with a sliding surface.
