PURPOSE: A basket fixing device for a retort foodstuffs sterilizer is provided to reduce the time to put/take foods in/out of a sterilizing device. CONSTITUTION: A basket fixing device for a retort foodstuffs sterilizer comprises a pneumatic cylinder(110), a moving shaft(120), an elevating member(140) and a pressurizing member(150). The pneumatic cylinder comprises a piston, which is operated according to the control of a controller. One end of the piston from the inner rear side of the rotating body(14) of the sterilizer is connected to the other ends of a compressed-air supply pipe and a compressed-air discharge pipe. One end of the moving shaft is connected to the piston of the pneumatic cylinder through a connecting unit and the other end is movably connected to the rotating body. The elevating member is connected to the moving shaft through a plurality of pins(141) and moves up and down according to the forward/backward movement of the moving shaft. The top of the pressurizing member is fixed to the bottom of the elevating member and pressures the door of a plurality of baskets, which are installed on the rotating body.
