IMAGE PROCESSOR, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately detect a layer boundary including an attenuation region by selecting a type of a layer to be detected according to the state of the retina of a subject's eye and detecting the layer based on anatomical features of the retina layer.

SOLUTION: This image processor for analyzing the retina layer of the subject's eye includes: a feature extraction means which extracts a feature quantity expressing anatomical features in the subject's eye based on a projection image acquired from a tomographic image of the retina layer and a fundus image of the subject's eye; a determination means which determines a type of the anatomical features based on the feature quantity; a layer structure detection means which determines the layer to be detected in the retina layer according to the determined type of the anatomical features and detects the structure of the determined layer in the tomographic image; and a layer structure change means which changes the structure of the layer included in the region having the anatomical features out of the structure of the layer detected by the layer structure detection means.
