The efficiency of a compressor is increased by achieving at the same time both a reduction in the amplitude of pressure pulsation in a discharge muffler space, into which a refrigerant compressed by a compression section is discharged, and a reduction in pressure loss. A low-stage discharge muffler space (31) is formed in an annular shape extending around a drive shaft (6). A discharge-opening rear guide is provided in the low-stage discharge muffler space (31) at a position of the periphery a discharge opening (16) from which a refrigerant compressed by a low-stage compression section (10) is discharged, said position being in one of two different flow paths having different flow directions around the drive shaft (6) from the discharge opening (16) to a communication opening (34). The discharge-opening rear guide prevents the refrigerant, which is discharged from the discharge opening (16), from flowing in the direction along said flow path, and by this the refrigerant within the annular discharge muffler space is circulated in the normal direction. |
