PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel medical agent which is a new biphenyl compound. SOLUTION: The compound of general formula (I) is used as a medical agent äwherein R5is -[A]-CH3, -[A]-C(OH)ZZ' or -[A]-C(O)Z" (-[A]- is alkylene, alkenylene or alkynylene or a single bond; and Z, Z' and Z" are each hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aryl); and R1, R2, R3, R4, R6, R7and R8are as defined in the specification}.
