<p>Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition for topical application which comprises calcipotriol (and which may also comprise nicotinamide); and a polyethylene glycol-based dermatologically acceptable carrier, wherein the carrier comprises PEG-4000, PEG-400 and polyoxyethylated stearyl alcohol (Steareth-20). Also disclosed is the use of a topical composition consisting essentially of calcipotriol at a concentration of about 10 mg/g (micrograms per gram) to about 100 mg/g; and nicotinamide at a concentration of about 0.5 mg/g to about 25 mg/g; and a polyethylene glycol-based dermatologically acceptable carrier, wherein the carrier comprises PEG-4000, PEG-400 and polyoxyethylated stearyl alcohol (Steareth-20); to prepare a therapeutic composition for the topical treatment of hyperproliferative disease (such as psoriasis, solar keratosis, ichthyosis, Grover's disease, common warts, keratoacanthoma, seborrhoeic keratosis, scleroderma, and seborrhea).</p> |
