A technique effective for improving protection of a driving passenger using an airbag in case of a vehicle accident is disclosed. A passenger protection system 100 to be mounted to a vehicle 10 configured in such a manner that an airbag 114 defines a first airbag section for constraining a driving passenger by being deployed and inflated between the driving passenger and a steering wheel 18 and a second airbag section that is deployed and inflated on the front side of the vehicle with respect to the steering wheel 18, and a pressure from the first airbag section is received by the steering wheel 18 and a pressure of the second airbag section is received by a front windshield glass 12 and an interior panel 14 positioned on the front side of the vehicle with respect to the steering wheel 18 when the airbag is deployed and inflated (Fig. 1).
