PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device and a lighting system that can optionally change an illumination color while keeping the color purity of the illumination color high, and have high light use efficiency. SOLUTION: The lighting device includes a surface light emitting light source 2; an interferometer 9 having two partial reflection films 6 and 7 which receive incident light emitted by the surface light emitting light source 2 and are disposed with a predetermined interval length 5 substantially in parallel to a light emission surface 4 of the surface light emitting light source 2, and a piezoelectric element 8 which varies the interval length 5; a driving unit 10 which drives the piezoelectric element 8; and a control unit which controls the driving unit 10 according to an external electric signal.
