PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a color tone and/or quantity of light according to the external light brightness of a surrounding without the need of preparing a photometric element separately from illumination. SOLUTION: An illumination device has white light sources (white light-emitting diodes LEDw) and a single color light emitting diode LEDo of at least one kind of color. At least one single color light emitting diode LEDo is a diode used for both light receiving and light emitting which is used by switching light emission and light receiving, and controls light emitting states of the white light sources (LEDw) and the single color light emitting diode LEDo according to a light receiving output of the diode used for both light receiving and light emitting.
