PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which excels in the uniformity of the charging, even if it is not a small particle-sized toner, and is not scattered in an image forming apparatus or is not scattered outward from the image forming apparatus due to leakage from a developing device, and to provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The toner includes at least a binder resin, a colorant and a release agent. The toner contains base toner particles, having an average volume particle size of 2μm to 6μm; small particle-sized silica having an average particle size of 7 nm to 15 nm; large particle size silica having an average particle size of 50 nm to 400 nm; and small particle-sized transition alumina, having an average particle size of 7 nm to 20 nm obtained by a dawsonite method. Furthermore, in the image forming method and the image forming apparatus, a rolled roller is used as a developing roller, and an electrostatic latent image carried on a photoreceptor, by applying a regulation bias onto a layer thickness regulating member, is developed under an AC electric field.
