PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display driving method, capable of reducing the number of signal lines without an increase in the number of scanning lines. SOLUTION: Display pixels Green1, Red1 and Blue1 are arranged in the vicinity of intersections between scanning lines Gate1, Gate2 and the signal lines SG1, SR1. The display pixel Green1 is connected to the scanning line Gate1 and the signal line SG1 through a TFT 11a. The display pixel Red1 is connected to the scanning lines Gate2 and the signal line SR1 through a TFT 12a. The display pixel Blue1 is connected to the display pixel Red1 through a TFT 13a. A gradation signal for red display and a gradation signal for blue display are alternately applied to the signal line SR1, and the scanning signals of the scanning lines Gate1 and Gate2 are controlled so that the gradation signal for red display may be written in the display pixel Red1 and the gradation signal for blue display may be written in the display pixel Blue1.
