The network has a reading device (16) for reading radio frequency identification (RFID) tags (17a-17e) provided in a vehicle e.g. semitrailer, pallet, container and swap box. A position determining device (11) determines position of the reading device, and a communication device (12) transmits position data. The reading device, the position determining device and the communication device are arranged in another vehicle e.g. passenger car, semitrailer tractor, pallet and cargo tractor, where the communication device has a global system for mobile communication (GSM)transmitter. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for determining position of a vehicle (2) a computer program with program code for executing a position determining method.
