E6 BINDING PEPTIDES FOR USE IN AFFINITY PURIFICATION

This invention provides methods for affinity purifying human papilloma virus (HPV) E6 polypeptides using peptides from E6 binding proteins. This invention further provides methods for detecting the presence of HPV E6 polypeptide in a sample by affinity purifying the HPV E6 polypeptide using peptides from E6 binding proteins prior to assaying for the presence of E6. Additionally, the invention provides compositions of E6 binding peptides useful for the invention.
