PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make use of pharmacological profile of an active agent by improving delivery methods of antipsychotics such as aripiprazole, thereby improving patient compliance. SOLUTION: An injectable composition for the extended release of aripiprazole for a long period of time, including a mixture containing at least about 10 mg/ml aripiprazole in an injectable vehicle optionally containing a viscosity enhancing agent is provided.
