<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing device for a food container capable of uniformly performing sterilization at a lower running cost. <P>SOLUTION: The food container is irradiated with electron beams which are projected so as to allow a scanning direction to be slant to the transfer direction of the food container.
