PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive built to improve the heat radiation efficiency of the laser diode. SOLUTION: A pair of positioning rods 32 is formed projecting on the slide base 10 of an optical pickup 8; a pair of long holes 33 is made facing the positioning rods 32 on the main heat sink 28a in the crossing direction X parallel with the rear heat sink 28c of the heat sink 28; the edges near the heat sink side plate 28b of the long holes 33 are used as the positioning edges 33a; the rear heat sink 28c is positioned close to the holder H of the BD light emitting section 16 by fitting the long holes 33 to the positioning rods 32; and the heat sink side plate 28b is positioned close to the holder H of the light emitting section 14 for DVD-CDs apart as predetermined by moving the heat sink 28 along the positioning rods 32 to bring the positioning edges 33a of the long holes 33 in contact with the positioning rods 32.
