A chamber (152) includes an opening for receiving a high voltage connection area of a gas discharge lamp (120) i.e. xenon lamp. A high voltage conductive strip (151) has a connection area connected with the high voltage connection area of the gas discharge lamp and another connection area connected with the ignition transformer and a central conductive piece made of plastic. Conductive strips have a central conductive strip region made of plastic. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of an ignition module for a gas discharge lamp.
