<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image display device that prevents an image from being peeped, by displaying an image so that it can be easily seen by a user but cannot be easily seen by a person who are peeping at it, without additionally processing a display screen or adding any component. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device includes: a display environment information capturing section 102 that captures setting information for display conditions on a display screen 106 and/or the characteristic information of the display screen 106; a high frequency component image forming section 103 that forms a video signal by extracting a component equal to or higher than the predetermined frequency of an image signal; a combining target image forming section 104 that forms an image signal to be combined with the generated image signal; a display image combining section 105 that combines the image signals generated by the high frequency component image forming section 103 and the combining target image forming section 104.
