ALGORITHM AND TERMINAL FOR INPUTTING CHARACTERS

PURPOSE: An algorithm for inputting characters of a mobile communication terminal and the mobile communication terminal using the algorithm are provided to divide a character input window into four square areas and five central areas to derive an input character from a combination of areas recognized by drag, thereby reducing errors in recognizing the character. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal confirms input of a character through key scan through a keypad. When the character is inputted through the keypad, the mobile communication terminal generates a code corresponding to a key. When an input code is a consonant, the mobile communication terminal generates an address of a corresponding phoneme. The mobile communication terminal generates a phoneme code of the phoneme by referring to the generated address. The mobile communication terminal transmits the phoneme code to an auto meter.
