<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a startup device for an occupant protecting device, preventing erroneous startup of the occupant protecting device with simplification in structure, and an acceleration sensor module used for such a device. <P>SOLUTION: The acceleration sensor module 10 includes chips 11a and 11b, a first determining section 12, a second determining section 13 and an OR-circuit 14 for enabling the detection of accelerations of different detecting shafts. This allows the startup device 1 to use the chips 11a and 11b of the acceleration sensor module 10 as redundancy sensors. Thus, no need arises for the startup device 1 to have an acceleration sensor and a microcomputer for ensuring redundancy, resulting in simplification of the startup device 1 in structure. Further, controlling a first switching portion 50 based on an output of the acceleration sensor module 10 and an output of the microcomputer 40 prevents the occupant protection device from erroneous startup merely with the output of the microcomputer 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
